    • Social media largely engages communication, specifically through affording quicker discourse by allowing people to communicate from different locations; through affording discussions around various topics by being adaptable to any topic; and through offering various modes of communication which benefits the accessibility of conversations.
  • How does social media challenge communications? Is it inclusive?
    • Social media can challenge communications through various factors, such as producing echo chambers that trap users in a narrow perspective of a given topic; through affording space for harassment through a lack of systemic moderation of discourse; and through rendering individuals in less developed countries whom do not have access to social media from engaging in discussions.
  • Does your PLN amplify the views of others?
    • My personal learning network amplifies the views of others, which allows me to gain a more diversified perspective on my topics of interest as well as affords me exposure to new topics.
  • How to better use social media to build PLN? Influencers & Commentators.
    • Some ways to better use social media to build a personal learning network are to create a user profile that is fully aligned with your learning interests and to participate in online community discussions to gain connections and perspective, as well as utilizing the tool of direct messaging to individually reach out to individuals who can help you to attain your learning goals.
  • What are the benefits of a diverse and inclusive PLN in social media sharing that understands where you are coming from with messaging that impacts the community?
    • Some of the benefits of a diverse and inclusive personal learning network in social media sharing that understands where I am coming from with messaging that impacts the community are the opportunity to foster a more flavorful and well-rounded learning environment and the promotion of new perspective-seeking behaviours.
